AI language data collection
Participated in live research to annotate newly created datasets for ongoing AI training projects at MMU, focusing on high-quality data delivery and peer review.
Overview
Participated in live research by helping to annotate newly created datasets as part of ongoing AI training projects at MMU. Worked in-person and remotely to discuss guidelines, deliver high quality annotated data and review work from peers. This opportunity provided insight into research and data collection methods and had an impact in a cutting-edge field.
The question
Training robust AI systems requires massive amounts of high-quality, human-verified data. Automated collection often lacks the nuance required for specific research tasks, and ensuring consistency across multiple annotators is a significant challenge.
My approach
Supported annotation, guideline interpretation and peer review as part of the research team.
Outcome and limits
Contributed annotation and peer review to an AI language-data research initiative.
Results are specific to the project setup and data; broader use would require additional evaluation.
